Gender equity and inclusion are core goals for ASI, but these goals require action from individuals. To discuss what we as individuals can do to support these goals, we are having a brunch on the first morning of the Annual Meeting.

Karen Farquharson

Karen Farquharson is Head of the School of Social and Political Sciences and Professor of Sociology at the University of Melbourne. Her research is focused on the sociology of ‘race’ and racism, ethnicity, and diversity, mainly in the contexts of media and sport. Her recent work has looked at how organisations manage diversity including organisational opportunities for and barriers to increasing diversity.

All are welcome, expect a great brunch and great advice on the best practices in equity and diversity. We hope you can put these tips into action during the Annual Meeting and beyond. You can purchase your ticket through the online registration form.

Fun Run

Tuesday 10 December

7.00am Athletic attire

Prove you are Australia and New Zealand's fastest immunologist for 2019. At 7am on Tuesday morning join us for a 5km walk, jog or run along the banks of the beautiful Karra wirra- parri (River Torrens). All participants get a free coffee on completion of the loop, and a chance to seize one of the winners' t-shirts - to be awarded at the Scientific Meeting Dinner. Attendance is complimentary; please express your interest through the online registration form.
