Hessel Group

Formerly nannySA and Green Shoes, we have grown into an even better Hessel. Starting from humble beginnings, Hessel Group has been providing quality care, support and education to South Australians for almost 20 years.

All Hessel Group employees have undergone our recruitment process and have all the legal minimum requirements to work with children, which includes a Child Related Employment Screening conducted by the Department of Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI). In addition to these requirements, our employees have various skills and qualifications including Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher.

The crèche is staffed with experienced carers who have their Working With Children Check, 1st Aid and CPR, Through Their Eyes Training (formally Child Safe Environments), a medical clearance and either the Diploma or Certificate 3 in Children’s Services

FAQ’s

What are the food options?

The Hessel Group doesn’t supply food but can distribute the food provided by the convention centre or supervises the food provided by the families during mealtimes

Do I have to bring my own games?

The Hessel Group provides a large range of toys and equipment to cater for very young children up to children who are 12 years old. Children can bring their own toys if their parents allow them to. We do require parents to supply young children under 2 with all the supplies they will need for that day e.g. nappies, clothes, bottles, food, their pram and comforter etc.

Can I drop in any time to see my child?

Parents can feel free to drop in at any time during the day to see their child, they can take them out for lunch or stay and eat with them, we don’t stop the parents from seeing their children. We may however ask the parent to think twice if the child is prone to get upset if the parent leaves once they are settled in, this will be played by ear and discussed with the parent first.

Will you have an area for naptime?

This will depend on the room and how big it is, we often have a designated area for rest and have quiet activities after lunch to facilitate this. We follow individual children’s routines as closely as possible and work with the parents to guide us, we do however realise that children react differently in a crèche (unfamiliar) environment.
